Follow These 3 Steps To Renew Your Missouri Medical Marijuana Card
A Missouri Medical Card Provides Major Advantages in the New Rec Weed World
Sure, recreational weed is great. But medical weed hits so much harder.
Missouri’s recreational market opened in 2023, but the medical scene is still hot thanks to the protections and perks a Missouri medical card provides.
One of those perks is saving you boatloads of money. With your Missouri MMJ card, you only pay around 4% in state taxes. Without it, you pay 6-9% in state taxes plus your local government can tax you an additional 3%.
Sure, there’s a fee you have to pay the state to get your Missouri medical card. It’s $26.50, but you only pay it every three years. Meanwhile, you save hundreds—potentially thousands depending on how much you consume—on taxes.
If that’s not incentive enough to secure your Missouri medical card, maybe the fact that you can purchase and grow more than rec users will do the trick.
Bonus: It only takes three steps to get your medical card or renew your current one, none of which require you to leave the comfort of your own home.
Step 1) Fill Out Your Missouri MMJ Intake Form
Before you apply with the state, you must first receive an official MMJ certification from a licensed physician. That’s what we do here, and it starts with completing our intake form.
Our intake form is similar to any other paperwork you’ve filled out for a doctor’s appointment. We’ll ask you basic demographic questions as well as questions about your medical history. Don’t worry if you don’t know all the answers, just fill out the information to the best of your ability.

Step 2) Schedule Your Online Doctor’s Visit
After you submit your intake form, our system will automatically prompt you to book your appointment with one of our certified MMJ physicians. You’ll see the appointments are in 30-minute intervals. We do this so you have plenty of time to ask questions, but the appointment itself doesn’t usually last longer than 10 minutes. Same-day appointments are available!
Come prepared with any questions you may have about the plant itself, how to use the plant, Missouri’s medical marijuana program, and anything else you might be curious about. Dr. Steve loves to talk about gardening, so you could even ask him about growing your own medicine!
Step 3) Upload Your MMJ Certification to Missouri’s Department of Health Website
With your medical marijuana certification in hand, all that’s left is for you to let Missouri know you’ve been certified.
They can take up to 30 days to process both new and renewal medical marijuana applications. If you’re renewing, it’s best to start the process at least a month before your current Missouri medical card expires.
